Dnghu projects are supported mainly by the free work and collaboration of people interested in Proto-Indo-European language revival. We appeal to international collaboration by supporting redistribution of free knowledge through our publications and resources.

All projects about Modern Indo-European have to be driven and coordinated within a stable legal and organizational framework. This framework is provided by the Dnghu Association: a young, decentralized, Open Source/Libre-driven, meritocratic, collaboration-led, not-for-profit organization.

We are interested in collaborations from a wide range of expertise. Each day we discover a new need among the different academic and professional fields, which are indeed not limited to the linguistic aspect

Meritocratic organization of the Dnghu Association:

Membership is ruled by a competitive meritocracy, unlike most other academic, cultural and social organizations in Europe and elsewhere. Unlike foundations, as an association we are based on democratic principles. Unlike common associations, actual membership (i.e. access to voting rights) is decided on the grounds of collaboration and contribution, and not on membership fees.

The actual nature of individual relationship to the Association and to the language revival is diverse, being membership mainly a way to show willingness to collaborate in organizing the Association, promoting the language revival, and teaching and learning Proto-Indo-European, more than a way to obtain financial or any other benefit from its members. A simplified scheme of the current membership levels can be described as follows:

  • Collaborator: not a member. Anyone can contribute to any open projects, comment, criticize, etc., including learning and communicating with other members.
  • Supporter: considered a non-voting member of the association. Anyone can apply for membership, and if approved will be able to access a wide range of possibilities for contribution.
  • Member: member with right to vote, eligible for any post within the Association structure. Any supporter is eligible for membership.
  • Board member: elected among members to lead the organization and its daily decisions.

Another type of membership, related but outside the Association rule, is the linguistic group.

All these membership types and their access rules are explained in the forum.
